Minurphy has supplied KZN and inland poultry and piggery operators with house curtains for two decades. Curtains that survive 10 years of UV, wind loading, and seasonal cleaning, not the 2-year imported alternative.
Why poultry-house PVC is its own spec
Poultry house curtains take permanent UV, frequent raising and dropping, and ammonia exposure. Imported generic PVC splits and yellows fast under those conditions. We spec UV-stabilised poultry-grade PVC from the material supplier, with cable eyelets and pipe pockets reinforced with double-layer webbing strips.
Cable or pipe, or both
The standard SA setup is steel cable top and bottom with eyelets at 500 mm. It is fast, cheap, and easy to replace by hand. For mechanised houses with winch systems, we fit top and bottom pipe pockets for 40 or 50 mm galvanised pipe. Either way, the curtain runs smoothly for its service life.
Piggeries, feedlots, and dairy
The same construction works for piggery side curtains, feedlot shade walls, and dairy parlour screens. Darker colours for piggeries and feedlots (olive, dark green, black) to hide staining. Any RAL colour available on custom order.
Built for 10-year service
We do not build curtains to fail at season 3. Poultry-grade UV-stable PVC, double-layer reinforcement at stress points, and welded (not stitched) seams. If anything we built ever fails from a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace it.
KZN install, SA-wide supply
For large contracts in KZN, we supply and install. Outside KZN, we ship to spec with a fitting guide. For Gauteng, Limpopo, and Free State poultry clients, we typically co-ordinate with a local installer in your area.
